Terms & Conditons

First Stroke Mobile Swim School understands that there will be times when it is necessary to cancel a swimming lesson due to illness or inclement weather. The air and water temperature are important factors in always providing a suitable teaching environment and the safety and interest of the student defines whether a lesson should be kept or cancelled.

It is not a problem to teach a lesson in the rain if the temperature is tolerable, particularly in mid-summer. Lessons continue when it is raining unless we have thunder and lightning present, or the bottom of the pool is not visible. Weather cancellations are often made at the last minute due to fluctuations and quickly changing weather patterns.

At the end of the day, it is your choice to cancel a lesson for any reason, however, to ensure consistency and fairness for all clients and instructors, we would like to summarize our setup, cancellation, and registration policy below:

Registration

There are no registration deadlines for the First Stroke Mobile Swim School system. Students who are registered for lessons can sign up and join lessons at any time, subject to available capacity and the number of requested lessons, as solely determined by the First Stroke Mobile Swim School location for which they have been registered.

Tuition and Fees
Monthly program: Once your student is registered for classes within the monthly program, you will be billed for the first month’s tuition and an The amount of tuition for the first month will be determined based on the number of available classes remaining in that particular month. For each month thereafter, you will be billed monthly until you notify us of your desire to withdraw your student from classes. The monthly amounts of tuition may vary based on the number of weeks in each respective calendar month. Single lessons will be charged full amount.

In the event your method of payment lapses for any reason and we are unable to collect payment from you, your student(s) may be withdrawn from classes at the sole determination of the First Stroke Mobile Swim School system. Weather Policy:

Even in the case of poor weather, if an instructor is either en-route or arrives at your pool and there has been contact or insufficient notification of a cancellation (thunderstorms excluded) no make-up lesson can be offered. You will not be able to make up that lesson.

When First Stroke Mobile Swim School believes the weather is unsuitable for swimming, we will contact you to postpone a class. However, we do cover a broad range of areas and pool settings, so if we have not contacted you, and you believe the weather / temperature is unsuitable to swim, please call your instructor directly.

First Stroke Mobile Swim School will never cancel a class without attempting to contact you, so please DO NOT assume a class is cancelled if the weather is poor.

Pool Quality: because proper swim instruction requires a specific area and depth to operate, instructors will not conduct swim lessons or event life guarding in "kiddie" pools or any other type of pool that does not meet the necessary requirements for a proper instruction setting.
